Yet today, most in the Christian faith would probably admit that their biggest understanding of God is who He is in either the person of Jesus the Christ or the Holy Spirit. Jesus centers His life and ministry around doing the will of His Father, and as we continue to study throughout the New Testament, we learn that every believer is a child of God making Him our Father as well. Pastor David Hill
Main Speaker

Pastor Hill attended Texas Southern University, graduating in 1996. He worked as a juvenile probation officer, youth pastor, and urban missionary in Chicago, Atlanta, and Jackson, MS, before joining Agape Development ministries in 2006 as their Director of Programs here in Houston. Driven by a passion to serve low-income urban communities, in 2010 Pastor Hill planted Restoration Community Church with a small team in the Third Ward area of Houston where he continues to live and pastor today.

As a seasoned servant-leader, Rev. Dr. Lekesha Attuquayefio expertly ministers through preaching and teaching, inspiring believers to live God's will. Her international experience and motto, "The world is my pulpit!" underscore her passion for evangelism and missions. Through her authoring two books and having a multifaceted ministry, including her roles at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church, HER Call Ministries, Intensified Life TV, and Agape Dance Trio, Dr. Attuquayefiyo empowers individuals to live purposefully and make a lasting impact all for God's glory.

Dela Criss graduated from The University of Texas at Austin, where she served as president of InterVarsity and met her husband. They now have four children and live on a small farm. Dela began her career with companies like Target and Ulta before transitioning into content creation, working with Think Media. After years of resisting, she embraced her calling to ministry, serving as a young adult pastor and now Director of Ministries at Freedom Church DFW. Dela is passionate about her family and advocating for the local church.

FAQs

Does the deposit go towards my registration? Yes. Once you register for $50, the remainder of your balance will be due when you check-in on Nov 1.

How are rooms assigned? All student rooms will be four to a room. Each room is a standard room with two queen beds. Roommates will be assigned based on your campus and with the campus staff's approval. Co-ed rooms are not allowed.

Do I have to be Christian to attend? No. Catalyst 2024 is a conference purposed in providing a contextualized and communal safe space for Black college students no matter their faith background.

If I am not a part of InterVarsity or I don't attend school in TX, AR, OK, and LA, can I still attend Catalyst? Yes. InterVarsity is always looking for opportunities to minister to students not connected to our movement. So we would gladly welcome you.

Will I be able to meet people if I come alone? Definitely! You will have time to build connections with people through your small group, your assigned roommates, and the various social opportunities.

 Catalyst '24 is poised to make a lasting impact by offering Black Red River College students an engaging in-person space in Houston, Texas. Red River Black Campus Ministries serves Black students and campuses in TX, OK, AR, and LA. Our goal is to provide pastoral support, foster spiritual development, and empower attendees to strengthen their bond with God.
